3D scan of the underside of a 1975 Datsun 280Z (S30): the lower engine bay and the transmission tunnel, captured from below with a handheld 3D scanner. Use it as a fit reference when designing parts: transmission and engine mounts, crossmembers, exhaust and driveshaft routing, shifter relocations, skid plates, and tunnel clearances.
What's in the scan
- Front frame rails and the front crossmember area
- Floor pan and transmission tunnel from the firewall back, including the shifter opening
- Floor reinforcements, brackets, and brake/fuel line routing along the floor
File details
- Format: binary STL, millimeters
- About 5 million triangles, 250 MB (184 MB zipped download)
- Overall size: approx. 2,100 × 800 × 470 mm
- Resolution: about 0.85 mm average point spacing (decimated from 0.3 mm scan data to keep the file size down)
Please read before buying
- This is an unprocessed scan mesh, not a CAD or surface model. It has many holes and gaps, especially along the sills and edges, plus some loose fragments, and it is not watertight.
- The engine mounts and transmission crossmember mounts on this car are custom-welded, not OEM. Don't use them as a reference for factory mount locations.
- Scans carry measurement error and every car is a little different. Check critical dimensions on your own car.
- Digital download: nothing ships. Your download link arrives by email after purchase and allows 3 downloads, so keep a backup.
- Licensed for personal and commercial use, including designing and selling parts. Sharing or reselling the scan, raw or modified, isn't allowed. See the 3D Scan License. All sales are final once the file has been downloaded.
