3D Scan License

Version 1.0 — effective 2026-10-05

This license applies to every 3D scan file purchased from Reis Performance, LLC ("Reis Performance", "we") at reisperformance.com. By downloading or using the files you ("Licensee") agree to these terms.

1. Definitions

  • Scan Data — the files delivered with your order (meshes, point clouds, textures, and any accompanying reference files), in any format.
  • Modified Scan Data — anything made from the Scan Data that still contains or reproduces its geometry, including edited, repaired, cropped, decimated, remeshed, merged, re-scaled, converted (e.g. STL → OBJ/STEP), or surfaced versions.
  • Your Design — a part, tool, fixture, or product you design using the Scan Data as a reference (for fit, mounting points, clearances, or dimensions), which does not itself contain or reproduce a substantial portion of the Scan Data's geometry.

2. What you may do

We grant you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Scan Data and Modified Scan Data for personal and commercial purposes, including to:

  • design, prototype, test, and engineer parts and products;
  • manufacture and sell physical products based on Your Designs, in any quantity;
  • sell, share, or publish Your Designs (including CAD and print files), as long as they follow section 3;
  • create images, renders, drawings, and videos for documentation or marketing, as long as the Scan Data cannot be extracted from them.

If the Licensee is a business, its employees and contractors may use the Scan Data while working on the business's projects. They must be bound by these terms, and the business is responsible for them.

3. What you may not do

  • Share, sell, resell, sublicense, give away, rent, or otherwise distribute the Scan Data or any Modified Scan Data, in any format, whether free or paid.
  • Upload Scan Data or Modified Scan Data to any public or shared location, including model-sharing sites (Thingiverse, Printables, GrabCAD, etc.), marketplaces, forums, file hosts, or public repositories.
  • Include Scan Data or Modified Scan Data in any product or file from which it can be extracted, such as asset packs, games, VR/AR experiences, or CAD files that embed the scan geometry.
  • Use the Scan Data to train, fine-tune, or evaluate machine-learning or AI models.
  • Transfer this license to anyone else, or let anyone outside section 2 use the files.
  • Remove or alter any license or attribution notice included with the files.

4. Third-party rights

The Scan Data captures physical objects that may be covered by other parties' rights (for example, a vehicle manufacturer's design patents, trademarks, or logos). This license covers only our rights in the scan. You are responsible for making sure your products don't infringe anyone else's rights.

5. Accuracy and warranty

Scans are provided "as is". They are measured from physical parts and contain measurement error, noise, and variation between individual parts. Verify critical dimensions against the real part before you commit to production. To the extent the law allows, Reis Performance gives no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Scan Data is limited to the price you paid for it.

6. Downloads and refunds

Each purchase includes a limited number of downloads; keep your own backup. Because digital files can't be returned, all scan sales are final once a file has been downloaded. If a file is corrupt or doesn't match its listing, contact support@reisperformance.com and we'll replace it or refund you.

7. Termination

If you breach this license, it ends automatically, and you must stop using and delete all copies of the Scan Data and Modified Scan Data. Physical products you sold lawfully before the breach are not affected. Sections 4, 5, and 7 survive termination.

8. General

This license is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. If any part is unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update this license for future purchases; the version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
